Transfer to Los Altos Sub-Acute

Yesterday, Geoff was transferred to the Los Altos Sub-Acute & Rehabilitation Center. He has a private room next to the nursing station.

As a family, we have consulted with five neurologists and two neurosurgeons over the course of three CT scans and two MRIs. Consistently, the prognosis has been grim. Most likely, Geoff will remain in a vegetative state and never regain consciousness. Moreover, if he did regain consciousness, he would have no chance for a meaningful recovery.

As part of the admission process at Los Altos Sub-Acute, a meeting is scheduled to review patient information with the family. Our meeting will be Friday at noon.

Hi Geoff,

I've been thinking about you nonstop the past few weeks. I hope you're hanging in there. You need to wake up and make a full recovery because you can't miss all the crazy stuff that's been happening lately. A lot of things are changing around here and the election on Tuesday was incredible. It shows you that miracles truly can happen and I have faith that it will happen for you too. I pray every day for your strength and endurance. All my love and good wishes,

Alex

Dear Carol, Walt and Mike,

We have been following Geoff's situation for weeks, but I have been unable to leave a comment - computer challenged.

I am so sorry to read Mike's last comment. I just want you to know we have prayed for Geoff and all of you daily. We've been asking God to give you strength for the decisions you have had to make and those you will make. I remember Geoff as such a driven, focused young man with a shy smile and a friendly demeanor. You bless him with love and I know your heart must be breaking as you continue to hear what the medical experts say about Geoff's future. Please know that we will continue to uphold each of you in our prayers because you are very special to all who know you, as evidenced by the numerous comments. We now live in Washington so we are unable to stop by and pass these words on to you in person. God bless you as you face so many future challenges. love, Gerri and Randy Carlton

Dear Carol, Walt and Michael....
My heart goes out to all of you. I am so very sorry for what has happened. As you know, I have known Geoff ever since we were little kids. He is one of the sweetest, most kind-hearted guys I have ever known. It breaks my heart to hear this terrible news. I want you to know that I am keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers, and if there is anything me or my family can do please let me know. Miracles do happen though. Don't ever give up. We are all pulling for him. Lots of love,
Natalie Wilson

HI Bro,

Letting you know no matter what happens you will always have people around you who love you and think about you every day. Sorry I have not been to visit, had a cold for past 3 or 4 weeks and don't wanna get you sick, last thing you need. We never know what is going to happen with each new day and that is something to look forward to.

Geoff, hi man. i hope you're doing fine but Mom says that you are not doing very good right now. i know you're going to get through this if you can but i believe you will i hope you got candy for halloween i hope you got alot of candy. I can't wait to have you come to eat with us again so you can teach me more 'gangster' moves. Mom says this may not be able to happen, but I believe in you and I'm not giving up on you. Miracles happen and I know you are going to be a miracle. I'm praying for you everynight. Please be my miracle and never forget "westsiiiiddddeee" (you gotta immage the hand moves with this).

Everyone here is sad about what has happened to you and Mom says your family is even more sad. I'm going to pray for them as well.

Love,
True

Dear Geoff, I wanted to send you a quick note saying that I'm so very sorry this has happened to you. I truly liked having you come to the house and I think you are a great guy. It was funny how you made dad laugh so much. You have been someone I honestly look up to. So tonight I will be praying for a miracle for you and for your family who was so nice to my Mom when she came to see you. Just fight as hard as you can to get better and we'll be right here behind you. You're awesome dude.

Love Brandon
